Sachin Tendulkar is the well known senior Indian cricketer and
he is also acknowledged as the greatest living batsman. Tendulkar managed a mere 112 runs at an average
of just under 19 in the just-concluded Test series against England, prompting
speculations about the 39-year-old's retirement from international cricket.
Tendulkar
and his partner VVS Laxman took India to a very comfortable position with the
visitors requiring just 112 runs short of victory.
India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has expressed hope legendary Sachin
Tendulkar keeps
playing Test cricket for the country despite poor run of form. Dhoni
said great players like Tendulkar, VVS Laxman and Rahul Dravid are hard to replace, and added that
Indian team is going through a tough phase similar to when they lost in 2007
World Cup. He also added that "We are going through a tough time.
It is difficult to replace Rahul Dravid or Sachin Tendulkar or VVS Laxman and you
have to back young players”.
