Azarenka beats Serena Williams in Qatar Open

Victoria Azarenka beat Serena Williams in Qatar Open on Sunday. Qatar Open tennis tournament was took place in Doha. In women’s single final number one player Serena Williams (U.S.) and secondary player Victoria Azarenka were collided.

In the first set Azarenka seized up Serena by 7-6. In second set, Azarenka lost it by 2-6. In the final set again she seized Serena by 6-3 and captured the trophy. Azarenka won the champion title for the second time in this series of 2012-2013.

Rafael Nadal Loses Both Finals in VTR Open


Tennis King Rafael Nadal lost both the singles and doubles finals on Sunday at the VTR Open in Chile. By the end of last year he was struggling with left knee injury. So that he didn’t participate in any matches. After 7 months gap, he returned to the ground for VTR Open.

His fans expect that Nadal will surely win this match. So they came to the ground and voiced for Nadal. But unfortunately Nadal lost the championship in both singles and doubles finals. It was the fifth loss for Nadal in a singles final on clay. Nadal face Argentina's Horacio Zeballos and finally Zeballos won the match by 6-7 (2), 7-6 (6), 6-4. In doubles finals Rafael Nadal and his partner Juan Monaco lost in 6-2, 6-4 against the Italian pair of Paolo Lorenzi and Potito Starace.
After losing the match Rafael Nadal said that, “Everything was fine. I wanted to win the match. But I didn’t exactly give my best. This is the beginning for many tournaments. I hope that I can able to get lot of success in upcoming matches”. Zeballos said that, “It's a great game in my life. I will never forget this moment in my life”.

Davis Cup: India lose the match with South Korea

In Davis cup tennis match, South Korea defeat Indian team in the series of 1-3. A charged up V M Ranjeet put up a spirited fight with Vijayant Malik and Malik win's the match. Asia/Oceania Group 1 Davis cup match against South Korea was held today. In single round match India fails to win. But in Double pair, India won the match but still it behinds by the series 1-2.

V M Ranjeet faced against the top player of South Korea, Suk-Young Jeong in alternative singles. Ranjeet fails to win the straight set of 4-6, 4-6, 2-6. Because of this in the round of 1-3 series, Indian team lost the match.

India face a stern test against Korea for Davis Cup

Davis Cup Tennis Series, Asia-Oceania Group 1 first round match will be met between India and South Korea and is beginning from today.

This will be a three days match and the series to take on in three categories like single, double and alternative single of this match. Totally five matches will take place.

With only Leander Paes as the top player in Indian side, V M Ranjeet, Vijayant Malik and Purav Raja will make their Davis Cup debuts and they will have to play out of their dedication to help India in winning the match. These Indian young players are waiting for a hard challenge in Davis cup match.

Earlier, Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna were axed before the New Zealand match in September last year, on grounds of indiscipline. So this chance has been given to the debut players.

In the first match, single round will be held today between Ranjeet (India) and Min-Hyeok Cho (South Korea). In the second match Vijayant Malik (India) and top player Suk-Young Jeong (South Korea) will play.

Double pair tournament will be held tomorrow. From India, Paes and Purav Raja pair and from South Korea Lim and Singh will have the match. Alternative singles round match will be held on February 3 between Ranjeet - Yong-Kyu Lim and Vijayant Malik - Min-Hyeok Cho.

Rafael Nadal is one of the leading tennis players. In June 2012, he lost the Wimbledon Tennis in second round and that was the last match he played. Due to his left knee causing him pain, he was planning to return to ground at the end of last year. Immediately after that he suffered from stomach problem. So he was too late to return to the ground.

After a long gap Rafael Nadal is going to participate in the level 4 - International tennis tournament in Chile before heading to tournaments in Brazil(February 11) and Mexico(February 25). This week, Nadal slipped to No. 5 in the latest ATP Rankings. At present he is in hometown to prepare for his next match.

Rafael Nadal said to the reporters that, “I am going to play after seven months in a professional tennis tournament. Since the motivation is big, I am very happy to participate back in the competition. I know that the first three tournaments are going to be difficult in terms of results but I am going to try everything. I will need a few weeks to see how things improve.”

Sania, Bhupathi pair out of Australian Open mixed double Tennis


All over match for India at the Australian Open after Sania Mirza and Mahesh Bhupathi but they lost the quarterfinal matches.

The American pair of Bob Bryan, Czech duo of Lucie Hradecka and Frantisek Cermak pair met. Sania Mirza didn't play well at first round itself. She played first set lost Innings 5-7.

Bhupathi and Petrova fought back in the 35 minute second set.

The finial result was Sania lost the match 5-7, 4-6 she left from open tennis.

In the decider, Bhupathi and Petrova ended up paying for five double faults to lose out narrowly.
